To make efforts for the development of drama in Nepal, including works in non-Nepali languages within the country.
To prepare and maintain a list of active theatre artists and organizations engaged in the development of drama in Nepal.
To conduct and facilitate studies and research on modern theatre practices in Nepal.
To encourage playwriting and stage performances.
To emphasize contacts, coordination, and collaboration with local, national, and international organizations related to this field.
To formulate and implement appropriate plans to establish Nepali drama at the international level.
To organize seminars, workshops, competitions, and training programs for the development of drama in Nepal.
To represent, or ensure representation, in international activities related to drama.
To maintain awareness of advanced international techniques and practices in drama and to promote them.
To address gaps in specific subjects within the field by conducting studies and facilitating scholarships where necessary.
To recognize and honor domestic and foreign talents contributing to the development of Nepali drama.
To coordinate with other departments and undertake joint activities to the extent possible.
To carry out any other functions related to drama as assigned in coordination with relevant authorities.
